New Delhi: The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) has officially announced the postponement of Chartered Accountancy (CA) examinations in light of the prevailing tense security situation in the country.

The decision impacts the CA Final, Intermediate, and Post Qualification Course (PQC) Examinations, including the International Taxation – Assessment Test (INTT AT), and comes as the country faces a state of high alert following the launch of Operation Sindoor, a major military campaign initiated in response to recent cross-border hostilities.

“Important Announcement-In view of the tense security situation in the Country, the remaining papers of CA Final, Intermediate & PQC Examinations [International Taxation–Assessment Test (INTT AT)] May 2025 from 9th May 2025 to 14th May 2025 stand postponed,” read the statement.

The conflict, which intensified over the past week, has led to troop mobilisations and airspace restrictions in several northern and western regions of India. As a precaution, educational institutions, including examination centres, have been advised to suspend operations temporarily.

Operation Sindoor, announced by the Indian government earlier this week, is aimed at neutralising threats along the Line of Control (LoC) and securing key border areas. The situation has triggered widespread security concerns, prompting multiple organisations to halt public gatherings and academic activities.

The ICAI has not yet released the revised examination schedule but assured candidates that updates will be shared on its official website in due course. Students have been urged to stay calm, avoid misinformation, and monitor official channels for accurate details.
