New Delhi: The National Testing Agency (NTA) will close the JEE Main 2026 January session registration window on Thursday, November 27, and candidates who have not yet applied can submit their forms on the official website — jeemain.nta.nic.in.

The JEE Main 2026 January session is scheduled to be conducted between January 21 and 30, 2026, across multiple exam centres in India and abroad.

How to Apply for JEE Main 2026

  • Candidates can follow the steps below to complete their JEE Main January session application:
  • Visit jeemain.nta.nic.in
  • Click on the JEE Main January Session Registration link
  • Fill in the online application form with personal, academic, and contact details
  • Upload the required documents
  • Pay the application fee and click on submit
  • Download and save the JEE Main 2026 application form PDF and take a printout

The application window for Session 2, which is scheduled to be held between April 1 and 10, 2026, will open in the last week of January 2026 on the official website.

Educational Eligibility Criteria

To appear for JEE Main 2026, students must have passed or be appearing in any of the following:

  • Final examination of the 10+2 system conducted by any recognised Central/State Board (CBSE, CISCE, etc.)
  • Intermediate or two-year Pre-University Examination by a recognised Board/University
  • Final exam of the two-year NDA Joint Services Wing course
  • NIOS Senior Secondary Examination with at least five subjects
  • Any public school/board/university exam in India or abroad that is recognised as equivalent to 10+2 by the Association of Indian Universities (AIU)
  • Higher Secondary Certificate Vocational Examination
  • Documents Required for JEE Main 2026 Registration

Candidates must upload the following scanned documents in the prescribed format:

  • Passport-size photograph (colour, 80% face visible, JPG/JPEG, 10–300 kb)
  • Signature (JPG/JPEG, 10–50 kb)
  • Class X certificate/marksheet (PDF, 10–300 kb)
  • PwD/PwBD certificate (if applicable, PDF, 10–300 kb)
  • The uploaded files must be clear, legible, and correctly named (e.g., ‘Photograph’, ‘Signature’, ‘Class-X Certificate’, ‘Disability Certificate’).
