The ESSO-National Centre for Polar & Ocean Research (NCPOR), an autonomous society under the Ministry of Earth Sciences, the nodal agency responsible for planning, coordinating, and executing the Indian Polar Programme, Government of India, Vasco-da-Gama, Goa, has invited applications from Indian nationals for filling up 6 Project Scientist I positions under project mode on a temporary contract basis through a walk-in interview.

The project, project code, and essential qualification are as follows:

Project: PACER-NPDC;

Essential Qualification: Master’s Degree in Computer Sciences/Computer Science & Engg./Information Technology or its equivalent or Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Technology in the relevant subject from a recognized University with at least 60% marks in the qualifying degree level.

Project: PACER-Antarctic logistics;

Post Code: PS-I-02;

Essential Qualification: Bachelor of Engineering/ Technology in Electronics and Communication or equivalent from a recognized university or AICTE with at least 60% marks in the qualifying degree level.

Project: PACER – Arctic Expedition Logistics;

Post Code: PS-I-03;

Essential Qualification: Master’s Degree in Physics/ Applied Physics/ Atmospheric Sciences/ Earth Sciences or equivalent OR Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Technology in the relevant subject from a recognized university with at least 60% marks in the qualifying degree level.

Project: PACER – Cryosphere and Climate;

Essential Qualification: Master’s degree in Science or Technology in Earth Sciences/ Chemical Sciences/ Hydrochemistry/Environmental Sciences/ Environmental Biotechnology or its equivalent. OR Bachelor’s degree in Engineering/ Technology in Chemical Technology/Chemical engineering from a recognized university or its equivalent with at least 60% marks in the qualifying degree level.

Project: PACER-Infrastructure and Maintenance;

Essential Qualification: Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or Technology in the relevant subject from a recognized university or AICTE or its equivalent with at least first class (60%) marks in the qualifying degree level.

Project: OSMART – Hydrothermal Studies;

Post Code: PS-I-06;

Essential Qualification: Master’s Degree in Geology / Applied Geology / Earth Sciences /Geological Sciences / Marine Geology or its equivalent or Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Technology in the relevant subject from a recognized university with at least 60% marks in the qualifying degree level.

For all the positions, upper age limit is 35 years. The age limit is relaxable for SC/ST/OBC (NCL) (if the post is reserved for the category), as per Government of India norms. Consolidated emoluments will be Rs. 56000/- + HRA.

Period of engagement: The posts are on temporary contract basis under project mode. The assignment would be initially for a period of six months which may be curtailed/ extended depending on performance of candidate and requirement of the Office OR co-terminus with the project period, whichever is earlier.

Walk-interview will be held on 02.02.2026 (Monday). This will be the the cut-off date for all purposes including Age/Qualification/experience etc. Registration will be from 08.30 a.m. to 11 a.m.

Candidates appearing for the walk-in-interview must produce the original certificates at the time of interview.

Application (as per the prescribed format at Annexure-I), is to be brought at the time of interview. Other documents/certificates to be produced at the time of interview is specified in the Notification.

Candidates working in Government/Public Sector Undertakings/Autonomous bodies must produce the requisite ‘No Objection Certificate’ or experience certificate from their employer at the time of interview. Experience will be counted after completion of essential academic qualifications. An awarded doctorate degree will be counted as three years’ experience.
