Fiscal Policy Institute Bangalore-Mysore Road, Kengeri, Bangalore-560 060; has invited applications for the posts of Research Fellow and Research Assistant to the Finance Department, Government of Karnataka on contractual basis.

Eligibility: Research Fellow -Applicants should have a Post graduate degree in Economics/ Applied Economics/ Econometrics/ Public Policy with a minimum aggregate 60% marks for equivalent grade from any University/Institution recognized by UGC. Preference will be given to those with Ph.D./ M.Phil./ pursuing Ph.D./ research experience in Public Finance. Applicants having knowledge in using computers in MS Office, Statistical software packages such as e-Views, STATA, SPSS etc., having proficiency in data analysis techniques and working knowledge of Kannada language shall be preferred. 

Work Experience: Applicants should have 2 years of research experience and a good knowledge of Central/ State/ Local Finances and be familiar with data bases. Past experience in Public Finance research/ data analysis/ Collection will serve as an added advantage. Applicants should have working experience of Statistical/Data Analysis tools necessary for Dashboard creation and Analysis. 

Research Assistant: Applicants should have a Post graduate degree in Economics/ Applied Economics/ Econometrics with a minimum aggregate 60% marks for equivalent grade from any University/Institution recognized by UGC. Those having knowledge in using computers in MS Office, Statistical software packages such as e-Views, STATA, SPSS etc., and working knowledge of Kannada language shall be preferred.  

For both posts applicants should not be over 40 years on the date of announcement of this notification (18.12.2023). 

Remuneration: The Research Fellow selected from the open market will be paid a consolidated remuneration of Rs. 60,000/- per month. Tenure of appointment will be for a minimum period of three years on contractual basis. 

The Research Assistant selected from the open market will be paid a consolidated remuneration of Rs. 45,000/- per month.  The posting would be for a minimum period of six months or until submission of the Memorandum to the 16th Central Finance Commission (CFC) whichever is earlier.
