National Biodiversity Authority, Government of India; 5th Floor, TICEL Biopark, CSIR Road, Taramani, Chennai-600 113, a statutory body established to implement the Biological Diversity Act, 2002 and to perform regulatory and advisory functions for Government of India on issues of conservation of biodiversity, sustainable use of its components and realization of fair and equitable sharing of benefits arising out of use of biological resources, has invited applications for 8 positions of 8 positions of Young Professionals (I/II/III), on temporary basis.

Young Professional – I/II/II positions are available in Legal. A Young Professional – II position is available in the Administration and Accounts. Young Professional II/III positions are available in the Scientific. There are 2 positions of Young Professional – II (Legal) and 1 position in each of the others.

Eligibility for each position are as follows: (i) Young Professional I (Legal)- Bachelor’s degree in Law (LLB / BL) (ii) Young Professional II (Legal)- Bachelor degree in Law (LLB /BL) and Master’s Degree (Post Graduation) (iii) Young Professional III (Legal)- Doctoral degree (Ph.D.) in Law or Master’s degree in Law (iv) Young Professional II (Admin)- Bachelor degree in Commerce/ Accountancy / Business Administration / Computer Science / Information Technology. In addition, a Master's Degree (post-graduation) is mandatory (v) Young Professional II (Accounts)- Bachelor's degree in Commerce/ Accountancy / Business Administration / Computer Science / Information Technology. In addition, a Master's Degree (post-graduation) is mandatory. (vi) Young Professional -II (Scientific) Bachelor degree in Biotechnology/ Botany/ Zoology/Life Science/Chemistry/ Physics/ Biochemistry / Forestry/ Agriculture/ Fisheries/ Marine Science/ Horticulture / Microbiology / Bioinformatics/ Veterinary Sciences/ Environmental Science or Bachelor degree in Engineering and Technology Field and Master Degree (post-graduation) (vii) Young Professional III (Scientific)- Doctoral degree (Ph.D.) in Biotechnology/ Botany/ Zoology/Life Science/Chemistry/ Physics/Biochemistry / Forestry/ Agriculture/ Fisheries/ Marine Science/ Horticulture / Microbiology / Bio-informatics/ Veterinary Sciences/ Environmental Science or M.Phill., in Botany/ Zoology / Life Science/ Chemistry/ Physics/Biochemistry/ Biotechnology/ Forestry/ Agriculture/ Fisheries/ Marine Science/ Horticulture / Microbiology / Bio-informatics/ Veterinary Sciences/Environmental Science/Engineering and Technology field or Doctoral degree in Engineering and Technology Field or Post Graduation in Engineering and Technology Field.

For all positions, weightage will be given for having specified years of experience in the relevant field. A certificate of experience has to be produced. All Degrees should be from a recognised University/Institute.

Selection will be through Examination & Interview to be held online. It will comprise: (i) Multiple choice questions (Objective type), (ii) Descriptive type questions, (iii) Interview. The questions shall pertain to the work responsibility attached to the position. The date of the online examination will be intimated to the eligible candidate through email/SMS.

Young Professionals would be engaged for a fixed period of time for providing high-quality services to the NBA and for attending to specific and time-bound jobs like preparation of documents, reports and assistance to officers, etc. The engagement would be on a full-time basis, and they would not be permitted to take up any other assignment during the period of engagement with the NBA. The initial tenure of engagement would be for a period of one year and may be re-engaged after a break, subject to evaluation of satisfactory performance and requirement.
