NABARD has released a recruitment notification for Development Assistant and Hindi posts with online applications open now.

National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (NABARD), wholly owned by the Government of India, has notified Direct Recruitment of Development Assistant/Development Assistant (Hindi) in Group 'B' 2026.
There are 159 positions of Development Assistant in Group B’ and 3 positions of Development Assistant (Hindi) in Group ‘B’. Details of the vacancies, regional office/state-wise, and reservation details are given in the notification at https://www.nabard.org/. One can apply for vacancies in one state only and for only one post, either Development Assistant or Development Assistant (Hindi).
Eligibility (as on 01 January 2026)
Age: Applicant should be between 21 and 35 years of age. Those born not earlier than 02 January 1991 and not later than 01 January 2005 (both days inclusive) are eligible to apply. Relaxation in the upper age limit is given in the Notification.
Educational Qualification
(a) Development Assistant: (i) Bachelor's Degree in any discipline with a minimum of 50% marks (pass class for SC/ST/PWBD and ex-servicemen candidates) in aggregate or equivalent qualification from a recognised university/institution (ii) Knowledge of word processing on PC.
(b) Development Assistant (Hindi): (i) Bachelor's Degree from a recognised university in English/Hindi medium with Hindi and English as a compulsory or elective subject with a minimum of 50% marks (pass class for SC/ST/PWBD/EXS candidates) in the aggregate OR Bachelor's Degree with Hindi and English as main subjects with a minimum of 50% marks (pass class for SC/ST/PWBD/EXS candidates) in aggregate. Applicant must be able to translate from English to Hindi and vice-versa (ii) Knowledge of word processing on PC.
Those applying for a post in a particular state should be proficient in the official language of the state (should be able to read, write, speak and understand the language). The official language of the state would be the main language declared in the state gazette of the concerned state.
Selection
Selection is a 2-stage process consisting of Preliminary Examination (Online) and Main Examination (Online). The structure of the examinations is given in the Notification. The preliminary and main online tests, except for the English/Hindi language, will be available bilingually-in English and Hindi. The preliminary examination is only qualifying in nature and is meant to serve as a screening test. Only those candidates who score sufficiently high in both individual tests & in aggregate shall be shortlisted for the main examination in the calling ratio of maximum 1:25 based on the cutoff arrived at on the performance of the candidates in the examination. Similarly, only such candidates who score the minimum cutoff marks (in the individual tests & total score) or above in the Main Examination will be shortlisted for selection. A state-wise merit list will be prepared for final selection. The marks obtained in the Preliminary Examination (Phase-I) will not be added for preparing the final merit list for selection. Only the marks obtained in the Main Examination (Phase II), both in the Objective Test and the Descriptive Test, will be added for preparing the final merit list.
The Preliminary Examination and Main Exam will be conducted at various venues across the states as indicated in the Notification. Applicants will have to opt for an online test (preliminary as well as main) centre within the same state(s) as the office they apply for. However, in case of any unforeseen infrastructural issues, centres would be shifted/combined/merged elsewhere.
Appointment of the selected candidate would be subject to medical fitness as per the rules of the Bank.
Wait List
A waitlist of up to 50% of vacancies (state-category-wise), subject to a minimum of three, will be maintained. Candidates will be considered from the waitlist against the non-joining of select list candidates only. The validity of the panel will be for a period of one year from the date of approval of the select list by the Competent Authority or the declaration of the result for the subsequent recruitment of Development Assistant/Development Assistant (Hindi), whichever is earlier.
Applications can be submitted online at www.nabard.org by 03 February 2026. The application fee as notified has to be paid online. Candidates are required to take a printout of the e-receipt and online application form.
Candidates will have to visit the NABARD's website for downloading call letters for the online test (Phases I & II). Intimation for downloading the call letter will also be sent through email/SMS.
The bank arranges pre-examination training for SC/ST/OBC/PWBD candidates, free of cost, in online mode. Candidates belonging to SC/ST/OBC/PWBD who desire to avail of the pre-examination training should fill in the details in the relevant column while filling out the online application.
