Kerala government has extended the PSC exam upper age limit after accepting the J.B. Koshy Commission report, offering relief to job aspirants ahead of state elections.

Thiruvananthapuram: The Kerala government on Tuesday revised the upper age limit for Kerala Public Service Commission (PSC) examinations, offering relief to job aspirants across categories.
The decision was taken at a Cabinet meeting chaired by Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan, a CMO release said.
Under the new rules, candidates in the General category can now apply for Kerala PSC exams up to 40 years of age, while applicants from Scheduled Caste (SC) and Scheduled Tribe (ST) categories will be eligible up to 45 years.
The age relaxation is expected to widen eligibility and benefit thousands of candidates preparing for upcoming recruitment notifications.
The announcement comes as Kerala prepares for state elections, adding political significance to the decision. Employment and government recruitment remain key concerns among young voters, and the age extension is likely to resonate strongly with job seekers.
