Indian Institute of Space Science and Technology [IIST], a Deemed to be University, Valiamala PO, Thiruvananthapuram -695 547, has notified Walk in Interview for contract positions.

The position, eligibility and related conditions are as follows: 

Medical Officer on Contract (1 position): MBBS degree or above with MCI registration. Minimum two years of service preferably in Government Hospitals / Medical Centers of Educational institutions after completion of MBBS degree. 

Duty of Medical Officer includes night duty also and is supposed to attend the cases in medical emergencies as and when required beyond normal duty hours.
Upper age limit: 64 years as on 27.11.2024. Remuneration: Rs. 55,000/- per month consolidated. 

Placement Officer on Contract (1 position): Applicant should have BE/ B Tech degree in any discipline with MBA/ Master’s Degree in Management with specialization in Human Resource Management from reputed College/ University with minimum 70% marks or CGPA of minimum 6/8. Applicant should have minimum of 3 years’ experience in MNCs/ Corporate Companies/Educational Institutions, out of which a minimum of 2 years should be as Placement Officer or equivalent in IITs/NITs/IIITs/reputed Universities after completion of B. Tech and MBA. Excellent networking with top tier core/ IT/finance & banking/ consulting firms in India & abroad is required. 

Roles and responsibilities of Placement Officer: (i) Connect with top tier companies in core Engineering/ Software/ Finance & Banking/ consulting sectors for hiring from IIST (ii) Identify the strengths and weaknesses of students and provide/arrange appropriate training programs to improve their performance in placements (iii) Facilitate smooth conduct of Internship/Placement drives by industries at IIST year-round (iv) Understand the aspirations of IIST students and work towards fulfilling their career goals (v) Provide adequate exposure to IIST’s students & strengths through different means-including social media to attract more companies (vi) Provide dynamic career advice to students. 

Upper age limit: 35 years as on 28.11.2024; Remuneration: Rs. 50,000/- per month consolidated.

The tenure of the contract is for a period of One year which is extendable on performance and need basis.

Schedule of Walk in Interview: (i) Medical Officer on Contract: 27.11.2024 (Wednesday), Reporting time- 1300 hrs (ii) Placement Officer on Contract: 28.11.2024 (Thursday), Reporting time- 0900 hrs.
