FSL Delhi invites applications for 19 Junior Scientific Officer posts across multiple forensic science disciplines.

The Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL), Home Department, Govt. of NCT of Delhi, Sector 14, Rohini, Delhi, has invited applications for the posts of Junior Scientific Officer (JSO) on a contract basis for a period of one year or till regular recruitment, whichever is earlier.
Junior Scientific Officers have to (i) examine the crime exhibits and submit the Test/Examination report as per the Quality Manual to the forwarding authority and depose as an expert witness in the court of law as and when required; (ii) visit the scene of the crime for identification of evidences and re-construction of scene of crime; (iii) assist senior officers in modernization and expansion of the respective division for day-to-day routine functioning; (iv) photography/videography of the crime scene/exhibits; and (v) attend to any other duties assigned by the senior officer(s) of the laboratory.
The posts and educational qualifications required are as follows:
Junior Scientific Officer (Biology)
Master’s degree in one of Botany, Zoology, Microbiology, Biotechnology, Biochemistry, Physical Anthropology, Genetics, Forensic Science with Botany or Zoology as one of the subjects during all three years of the Bachelor of Science level from a recognized university, or a B.E. or B. Tech in Biotechnology from a recognized university.
Experience: Three years’ experience in research and analytical work in the relevant field in any central and state organization or recognized Institute or university or forensic science laboratories under Central Government and State Government.
Junior Scientific Officer (Chemistry)
Master's degree in Chemistry or Associate ship diploma of the Institution of Chemist by examination (Associateship diploma of the Institution of Chemist by examination qualification will be applicable only for the departmental scientists available on the date of notification of the RR (amendment)) or Biochemistry or Forensic Science with Chemistry as one of the subjects during all the three years of bachelor of Science level from a recognized University.
Experience: Three years' experience in research and analytical work in the relevant field in any central and state organization or recognized institute or university or forensic science laboratories under Central Government and State Government.
Junior Scientific Officer (Ballistics)
Master’s degree in one of Physics, Mathematics, Applied Mathematics, Forensic Science with Physics or Mathematics as one of the subjects during all the three years of bachelor of Science level from a recognized university.
Experience: Three years’ experience in research and analytical work in the relevant field in any central and state organization or recognized institute or university or forensic science laboratories under Central Government and State Government.
Junior Scientific Officer (Physics)
Master’s degree in one of Physics, Applied Physics, Computer Science, Electronics, Forensic Science with Physics as one of the subjects during all the three years of bachelor of Science level from a recognized University or Bachelor of Engineering or B.Tech in one of Civil, Electrical, Mechanical, Electronics, Telecommunication, Computer Science, Instrumentation, Computer Science and Engineering (CSE), Electronics and Communication Engineering (ECE), Information Technology, Electronics and Electrical Engineering (EEE) from recognized University.
Experience: Three years' experience in research and analytical work in the relevant field in any central and state organization or recognized institute or university or forensic science laboratories under Central Government and State Government.

Age limit: Not exceeding 30 years as of 15.01.2026. Age relaxation for OBC/SC/ST will be as per govt. Rules (OBC-03 years, SC-05 years, ST-05 years).
