Renault India announced on Saturday that it would be passing on the benefits of recent GST reforms to its customers, resulting in price reductions of up to ₹96,395 on its vehicles.

The new prices are effective for all deliveries made on or after September 22, the same date the GST rate changes will be implemented.

The move follows a similar announcement by Tata Motors and is in response to the GST council's decision to limit tax slabs to 5% and 18%.

Under the new framework, petrol, LPG, and CNG cars with engines under 1,200 cc and a length not exceeding 4,000 mm, as well as diesel vehicles with engines up to 1,500 cc, will be taxed at 18% instead of the previous 28%.

According to the automaker, the price of the top-end variant of the Kwid will drop by ₹54,995, the Triber by ₹80,195, and the Kiger by up to ₹96,395. Bookings for the new prices are available immediately at dealerships across India.

Venkatram Mamillapalle, Renault India's Managing Director, stated that passing on the GST benefits to customers reflects the company's commitment. "We believe this timely initiative will not only make our cars more accessible but also energise demand during the festive season," he said.
