Thiruvananthapuram: From September 21, applicants will no longer need to visit Motor Vehicles Department (MVD) offices in person. A total of 60 department-related services are transitioning to a fully Aadhaar-based online system.

Currently, only 21 driving-related services are completely accessible online.

Under the new system, one-time passwords (OTPs) sent to mobile numbers linked with the vehicle owner's Aadhaar will serve as the primary security layer.

Applications will be processed strictly on a priority basis. For services where an applicant's physical presence is mandatory, a video call verification will suffice.

Transport Commissioner Nagaraju Chakilam confirmed that physical copies of application forms no longer need to be submitted to offices.
