New Delhi: Maruti Suzuki India, the country’s largest car manufacturer, announced on Thursday that it will reduce vehicle prices by up to ₹1.29 lakh from September 22, extending the benefit of the GST rate cut to customers.

According to a regulatory filing, the entry-level S-Presso will see price reductions of up to ₹1,29,600, while the Alto K10 will be cheaper by as much as ₹1,07,600. The Celerio will get a cut of ₹94,100, the Wagon-R up to ₹79,600, and the Ignis up to ₹71,300.

The company confirmed that the premium hatchback Swift will be priced lower by up to ₹84,600, the Baleno by up to ₹86,100, the Tour S by ₹67,200, and the Dzire by up to ₹87,700. The Fronx and Brezza models will see reductions of up to ₹1,12,600 and ₹1,12,700 respectively, while the Grand Vitara will drop by up to ₹1.07 lakh. The Jimny will be cheaper by up to ₹51,900, the Ertiga by ₹46,400, and the XL6 by up to ₹52,000.

In the same filing, Maruti Suzuki stated that the Invicto’s price will be reduced by up to ₹61,700, the Eeco by up to ₹68,000, and the Super Carry LCV by up to ₹52,100.

The GST on petrol, CNG, and LPG vehicles with engines up to 1200cc and lengths not exceeding four metres will be lowered from 28 per cent to 18 per cent beginning September 22. Diesel cars with engines up to 1500cc and within the four-metre limit will also attract an 18 per cent GST rate.
