Kia has taken the wraps off the next-generation Seltos, introducing a fully revamped version of its popular midsize SUV ahead of its expected India launch in January.

Bookings open tonight for a token amount of ₹25,000, while prices will be revealed on January 2, 2025. Deliveries are slated to begin by mid-January 2026.

The new Seltos builds on the SUV’s familiar silhouette but adopts a wider, more muscular posture. The SUV sits on the brand’s K3 platform and measures 4,460mm in length, 1,830mm in width and 1,635mm in height, with a 2,690mm wheelbase.

The refreshed look includes Ice Cube LED projector headlamps, Star Map LED DRLs and a connected tail-lamp setup. Depending on the variant, the SUV features satin silver or gunmetal skid plates, gloss-black bumper accents, neon brake callipers and 18-inch crystal-cut or blacked-out alloys on the X-Line. A dual-pane panoramic sunroof, flush door handles and an LED-integrated spoiler amplify its premium appeal.

Completely redesigned interiors

The cabin receives a substantial overhaul with an extended wheelbase, improving legroom and cabin space. A new Trinity Panoramic Display Panel merges a 12.3-inch digital cluster with a 12.3-inch touchscreen into a single curved unit.

The next-gen Seltos packs Kia Connect 2.0, enabling remote diagnostics, OTA updates and expanded connected features. Wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay are available on select variants and pair with an upgraded Bose 8-speaker sound system.

Higher trims include dual-zone climate control managed via a dedicated 5-inch touchscreen panel, wireless charging, smart key with push-button start, proximity unlock, illuminated switches and power-folding mirrors. A 360-degree camera with Blind View Monitor, extensive parking sensors and the panoramic sunroof underline its tech-forward positioning.

Kia retains its three-engine lineup:

1.5-litre Smartstream petrol: 115hp, 144Nm; offered with MT and CVT

1.5-litre turbo-petrol: 160hp, 253Nm; paired with 6iMT or 7DCT

1.5-litre CRDi diesel: 116hp, 250Nm; available with 6MT or 6AT

All variants get a 2WD layout and all-wheel disc brakes. Depending on the combination, buyers can choose from 6MT, CVT, 6iMT, 7DCT or 6AT gearboxes. Fuel tank capacities range between 47–50 litres.

Enhanced safety, Level 2 ADAS

Built on a reinforced platform, the SUV offers six airbags, ABS, ESC, VSM, hill-start assist, ISOFIX mounts, TPMS, rear occupant alert and 3-point seatbelts for all passengers as standard.

Top trims introduce a comprehensive Level 2 ADAS suite with 21 functions. 

Launch timeline

Slated for a January debut, the next-gen Seltos will compete in the fiercely competitive midsize SUV segment against the Hyundai Creta, Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara, Toyota Hyryder, Skoda Kushaq, Volkswagen Taigun, MG Astor, Tata Sierra, Curvv and upcoming Maruti Victoris, among others.
