Apple has released the second Release Candidate (RC) of the Apple iOS 26.2 update for developers and public beta testers, signalling that the final public version is almost ready. The new RC carries build number 23C54, replacing the earlier 23C52, and is expected to be the last step before the stable rollout.

What’s new in the Apple iOS 26.2

The Apple iOS 26.2 update introduces several design tweaks and feature improvements across the system. One of the standout additions is the new Liquid Glass slider on the Lock Screen, which lets users adjust the transparency of the clock. This continues Apple’s modern design approach seen at recent WWDC events.

Another notable change is the expansion of AirPods Live Translation to users in the European Union. Productivity also gets a boost, with the Reminders app now supporting alarms for due tasks.

Updated measure app and smoother animations

Apple has redesigned the level tool inside the Measure app, replacing the old indicators with smoother, fluid-style bubbles. This matches the refreshed look appearing throughout the Apple iOS 26.2 update. Menu animations have also been improved for faster, more responsive transitions.

Games app and CarPlay enhancements

The Games app gets new sorting options, including the ability to sort games by file size. Real-time score updates and better controller navigation make the app easier to use.

CarPlay users also gain a new option to disable pinned conversations in Messages, giving drivers more control over what shows up on the dashboard.

Improved safety alerts

The Apple iOS 26.2 update also adds clearer explanations for Enhanced Safety Alerts. These alerts—like earthquake or flood warnings—use your location to determine relevance but do not store your location data.
