Honor has officially unveiled its latest foldable flagship, the Honor Magic V5, for global markets. The premium foldable arrives as one of the thinnest devices in its category, offering a cutting-edge design paired with top-tier hardware. The Magic V5 launch makes it a direct competitor in the high-end foldable phone segment, combining portability with performance.

Honor Magic V5 display

The Honor Magic V5 thin foldable phone features a 7.95-inch foldable OLED inner display with a resolution of 2352×2172 pixels, alongside a 6.43-inch OLED external screen offering 2376×1060 pixels. Both displays deliver exceptional brightness levels, with HDR peak brightness hitting 5000 nits. The inner panel peaks at 1300 nits, while the external display reaches 1800 nits.

For protection, Honor uses its in-house Super Armored Inner Screen technology for the main display, while the outer panel comes with the Anti-scratch NanoCrystal Shield, enhancing durability for everyday use.

Honor Magic V5 processor and performance

Powering the device is the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite mobile platform, paired with the Adreno 830 GPU. This setup ensures top-level performance for multitasking, gaming, and demanding apps. The phone ships with MagicOS 9.0.1 based on Android 15 and comes with 16GB of RAM and 512GB of onboard storage. The system supports 3x optical zoom, 100x digital zoom, and up to 4K video recording at 3840×2160 pixels, backed by EIS and OIS for stabilisation.

On the front, both the inner and outer displays house 20MP wide-angle selfie cameras (f/2.2), which also support 4K recording, making video calls and vlogging seamless.

The Honor Magic V5 battery life is powered by a 5,820mAh battery. The device supports 66W wired Honor SuperCharge and 50W wireless charging, making it one of the fastest-charging foldables in the market. The wired option supports up to 20V/3.3A, alongside compatibility with 11V/3.2A and 5V/2A charging modes.

The Honor foldable phone comes in four finishes: Dawn Gold, Reddish Brown, Ivory White, and Black. Measuring 156.8 mm in height, the phone’s folded width is 74.3 mm, while the unfolded width stretches to 145.9 mm. Thickness varies slightly between finishes — the Ivory White edition measures 8.8 mm folded and 4.1 mm unfolded, while other versions are 9 mm folded and 4.2 mm unfolded.

Weight also differs slightly, with the Ivory White version weighing around 217 g, while other finishes come in at approximately 222 g. The device is built with IP58 and IP59 water and dust resistance, reinforcing its durability as a premium foldable.
