Lockdown in writing used for re-reading, says writer CV Balakrishnan

'Lockdown in writing ' was an engaging session on the different experiences of the writers during the lockdown period. Renowned writer and playright C V Balakrishnan said that the period didn't make any difference to him as he spends his time alone at home .

"I indulged in  re-reading books I had read before as I was uncomfortable at the alarming news on pandemic. I wrote a story about the sad plight of the women in 'sonagachi' as the period was that of a blockage in life, he shared.

Writer V K Deepa stated that the lockdown period helped her to be socially active and interact directly with her readers. Being a teacher,  she could continue her work life as the classes happened online. She noted that people had turned more understanding and helpful. As a creative writer, she started to approch writing with more seriousness as she was able to get direct feedback.

Writer Farsana found the lockdown period suffocating and dull as she had concerns about the pandemic.

She could write during the period  but not in ease and spent most of her time reading.

Dr Seema Jerome was the moderator of the Session.

The session concluded on the note that the lockdown period created more readers and writers and has socialised writing
