‘Feels like you’re in Pakistan, not Dallas’: US lawmaker warns of ‘Islamisation’ in Texas

New York: A US lawmaker has expressed concern about what he described as the “Islamisation” of certain areas within his constituency in Texas, saying that visiting local malls in the region “feels like you’re in Pakistan, not Dallas”.

Republican Congressman Brandon Gill made the remarks during an interview with Real America’s Voice on Friday. He said he frequently hears from constituents who are “deeply and desperately concerned about the Islamisation of the Dallas area”.

The congressman claimed that constituents have reported mosques “popping up near land that they or their family have owned for generations”, adding that entire communities were being “transformed”. “And you hear about constituents talking about going to their local malls, and you look around, and it feels like you’re in Pakistan, not Dallas, Texas. That’s a problem,” he said.

In a social media post, Gill said “mass Islamic migration is killing the America we know and love”.

Gill represents Texas’ 26th Congressional District in the US House of Representatives. He was elected to Congress in 2024 and serves on the House Judiciary, Budget and Oversight Committees, including the DOGE Subcommittee, where he focuses on issues such as border security, protecting life, reducing government waste and strengthening the economy.
