Half a resume, one bold line: Job seeker’s stunt goes viral

In a quirky twist on job applications, one man's unconventional CV has amused internet users across the world. The creative resume, only partially printed, appeared on Reddit’s popular r/recruitinghell subreddit with the caption, “Resume printed halfway and said: Hire me to unlock full potential.”
Instead of a full set of credentials or experience, the resume offered a cropped photo of the applicant, a generic career objective, and a blank bottom half. At the centre of the empty page was a bold and clever line: “Hire me to unlock my full potential.”
The top portion of the resume featured a standard objective, which read: “To be part of your company wherein I can enhance my skills and gain more knowledge as well as develop my personality as a career person.” However, there were no qualifications or work history listed—just the memorable tagline where the rest should have been.
Reddit users quickly jumped in with jokes and praise. One user wrote, “Recruiter response: full resume review for only $99. 1 line review has been completed. Thank you.” Another likened it to a printer demanding payment mid-task, saying, “The printer paused to ask for payment before printing the rest.”
Beyond the laughs, many saw genuine brilliance in the bold stunt. A commenter noted, “I won’t even pretend this isn’t one of the most clever things I have seen in ages.” Another commented, “If I were a recruiter, I’d 100% be giving you a call for an interview. Might not hire you, but that got you right into my office, without question.”
Whether the resume was a calculated marketing move or a genuine printing error that sparked viral fame remains uncertain. Either way, it struck a chord for its blend of humour and unexpected originality.
