Woman SI alleges lawyers manhandled her at Vanchiyoor Court

Thiruvananthapuram: In a bizarre incident, a woman police officer filed a complaint against some lawyers for allegedly manhandling her at Vanchiyoor Court here on Saturday. Aleena Cyrus, a Sub Inspector of Valiyathura Police Station filed the complaint before the magistrate.

Earlier, Valiyathura Police Station took a man into custody over anti-social activities. Though he was released on bail, the Principal SI of Valiyathura Police Station kept a tab on him.

Irked with this, Adv Pranav who appeared for the accused broke into a quarrel with the woman cop who reached the court on Saturday. It is alleged that the lawyer hurled abusive remarks at the woman police officer at the court premises. Following this, she filed a complaint before the magistrate.

Aleena claimed that she only attended the court proceedings related to the case. 

It is alleged that a group of lawyers stopped her and manhandled her following the argument with Adv Pranav.
