Kalpetta: In the aftermath of the devastating Chooralmala-Mundakkai landslide, Wayanad Collector DR Meghasree has urged people to come forward and support those affected by the disaster. The landslide has displaced many families, who are currently residing in relief camps. As they prepare to move into temporary accommodations, the District Collector has urged people to provide essential items to help them rebuild their lives.

The ‘Back to Home Kit’ initiative has been launched to gather necessary household items for the displaced families. The list of required items includes various cooking utensils such as kadais, sauce pans, tawas, casseroles, mixers and grinders. It also includes utilities like wardrobes, cots, tables, chairs, cooking stoves and cookers.

Additionally, basic crockery and cutlery like knives, spoons, jars and water bottles can also be donated. Cleaning items like dustbins, phenol, brooms, mops, detergents, door mats and floor mats are also needed.

Besides these, personal hygiene kits, buckets, mugs and nail cutters, as well as LED bulbs, emergency lights, and rope clips, are also requested. Donations can be delivered to the Vijaya Coffee Curing Works Godown, located near the Government Hospital in Kainatti, Kalpetta.
