UDF to end public protests in wake of Covid situation, says Chennithala

Thiruvananthapuram: Opposition Leader Ramesh Chennithala on Monday stated that considering the Covid-19 situation in state, UDF has decided to end all public protests. He was speaking at a press meet here.
The protests by youth outfits staged all over Kerala demanding the resignation of Minister KT Jaleel was criticized heavily. Many of the protesters and police personnel also had tested positive for the virus infection.
Meanwhile, Chennithala also alleged suspicion in the action of Vigilance hastily taking away all the files related to Life Mission project. He also raised the question why the government was opposing CBI probe into the project, if its hands are clean.
Reacting on CPM state secretary Kodiyeri Balakrishnan’s comments on CBI, the Congress leader alleged that the former started blurting out accusations against central agencies only after his son was questioned over the drugs case.
