Thrissur Mayor files complaint to DGP as police officers fail to salute him

Thrissur: Mayor M K Varghese complained that the police officers are not saluting him. The Mayor of Thrissur corporation filed a complaint to the DGP stating that the police officers not saluting him and an order should be issued instructing them to salute him.

The mayor of corporation is in the third position after the Governor and the chief minister according to the protocol. However, the police officers are showing disrespect even after bringing the matter into their attention. The police men are turning their back to the mayor now, the mayor said.

Nobody should respect the person M K Varghese. But they have to respect the mayor. Though a complaint was filed to the DGP, no response was received. The matter was brought to the attention of the commissioner and the MLA also. However, no action was taken, M K Varghese said.
