Thrissur: Union Minister and actor Suresh Gopi has received approval from the BJP leadership to return to acting. The high-level BJP leadership has given permission in principle for him to act in a film, with official approval expected soon. For now, he has been granted eight days to complete the first schedule of the shoot.

In preparation for his character, Suresh Gopi has started growing a beard. His new look is for the role in an upcoming film, Ottakomban. The actor had previously begun growing a beard for the film, but uncertainty over permission led to him shaving it off last month.

Despite waiting for months for a final decision, Suresh Gopi expressed his need to return to acting for financial reasons and to fund the projects he has undertaken. His role in the film Ottakomban requires him to play a central character, and the permission granted will allow him to move forward.

Film shoot scheduled to begin

The film shoot will begin on 29 December in Thiruvananthapuram, with Suresh Gopi’s scenes focusing on the Central Jail portion. His permission to act is valid until 5 January, during which time the majority of his scenes will be filmed.
