Vivek’s skills in mental math has never failed him. He set a new Guinness record for India by recollecting the 28 digit number in front of the officials of Guinness World Record. Alappuzha native Vivek Raj had broken the record of an Iranian who had memorised 27 digits. Vivek performed at Leo XIII Higher Secondary School in Alappuzha, in the sight of Guinness Book officials.

Vivek recollected the 28 digit number randomly selected by the judges which were shown to him just for 4 seconds. He had dedicated his past 16 years to achieve this awe-inspiring achievement. His grandfather Varkey Pilla was also a master in remembering numbers and doing mental math.
Vivek is adept at memorising the registration numbers of vehicles and mobile numbers at lightning speed. While studying in the seventh standard, Vivek had marvelled his friends and teachers by reciting the multiplication table of numbers up to 1000. It reached 10,000 in the tenth standard and now he can recollect the multiplication tables of numbers up to 1 lakh.

Vivek entered the Limca Book of Records in 2016 by displaying his skills in mathematical progression. He has received an invitation to participate in the Mental Calculation World Cup in Germany this year.

Vivek is a graduate in Mechanical Engineering and a postgraduate in MBA Marketing. He is the son of the former principal of Leo XIII school, PC Raphel, and the former headmistress of Arthunkal school, Annie Kutti.
