Odisha native arrested in connection with recent train stone-pelting case in Kannur

Kannur: A man has been arrested in connection with the train stone-pelting case in Kannur. Sarvesh (23), a native of Odisha, was arrested by the police for allegedly pelting stones at the Chennai-Mangaluru superfast train at Parakkandy in Kannur. 

According to the police, the man who is a migrant worker in the state, threw stones at the train while in an inebriated condition. Although the initial information given by the police is that there is no sabotage attempt in the incident, further investigations are underway.

Between August 13-16, there were four cases of train stone pelting reported. On August 13 alone, three trains were attacked in this manner. The arrested accused is said to be involved in one of these cases.
