Kochi: Kerala dairy brand Milma has joined the ongoing Chief Minister debate in the state with a witty social media campaign that is now going viral online. As the Congress leadership’s discussion over the CM face entered its 11th day, Milma posted promotional cards carrying the tagline: “Who is the chief?”

The campaign featured three Milma products- Mango Lassi, Pista Joy and Plus Rose flavoured milk, styled around the political buzz surrounding the Kerala Chief Minister debate, with the three candidates being K C Venugopal, Ramesh Chennithala and V D Satheesan. The promotional cards, shared through Milma’s official Facebook and Instagram pages, also carried a chair symbol and the caption: “Whose side are you on?”

Another post from the official Malabar Milma page showcased three milk packet variants- Prime, Long Life and Rich, with the line: “There is no competition among us. All three are equally important for the state.”

The posts quickly gained traction across social media platforms, with users linking the products to political leaders involved in the Congress CM face debate.

The comment sections were flooded with jokes, memes and political references, turning the campaign into one of Kerala’s latest viral social media trends.

The campaign stands out because several businesses in Kerala have recently started using the Congress Chief Minister controversy and leadership discussion as marketing content. Restaurants, bakeries and local brands have also released humorous advertisements tied to the political debate.

Milma’s latest campaign has drawn particular attention because the brand has previously landed in controversy over politically themed social media posts.

Last October, Shafi Parambil was indirectly mocked in a Milma social media advertisement, triggering criticism online. The post was later withdrawn.

In another controversy, Milma shared a caricature linked to a student involved in protests during a BJP march to Cliff House. Following complaints from the student’s father, the post was also removed.
