Media not highlighting issues affecting Kerala; will not change my style what you may say: Pinarayi
Kasaragod: Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan on Saturday criticised the media for "not highlighting the issues that affect Kerala." He said news reports that he left a function earlier in the day over resentment were untrue.
“What is there for me to resent? There was something wrong, and I pointed it out. If you term it resentment, do you think I will not do this anymore?” he asked the media persons during the event.
Earlier on Saturday, while the chief minister was concluding his speech at an event of a cooperative society, an organiser started announcing the next agenda of the event. Dissatisfied by this, the chief minister asked the organisers how they could start the announcement before he concluded his speech. However, as the announcement continued, the disgruntled CM asked if the announcer couldn’t hear properly. Soon, Pinarayi left the stage.
"The media is not highlighting the matters that are affecting the state. They are not criticising the union government. All they do is target the state government. I talked at length about how union policies affected the cooperative sector at my previous event. However, at the end of the speech, someone started announcing something. But I had not concluded. When I questioned it, the media said I left due to resentment. What is there to resent? I just pointed out what was wrong. I will continue to do so irrespective of your opinions. What do you gain from this? You want to create a wrong image among people. But that is not going to succeed," he said.
