Malayalam music director Mohan Sithara joins BJP

Thrissur: Renowned Malayalam music director Mohan Sithara has officially joined the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). He was welcomed into the party by BJP Thrissur district president, Adv K K Anish Kumar. The event also marked the beginning of BJP's district-level membership drive.

At the joining ceremony, several BJP leaders were present, including Constituency President Raghunath C Menon, State Committee Member Murali Kolangat and Constituency General Secretary Sushant Ayinikunnath.

Mohan Sithara, born on May 30, 1959, is renowned for his work in the Malayalam film industry since 1986. Known for his unique fusion of Western, classical and folk music styles, the music composer earned acclaim with the Kerala State Film Award for Best Music Director in 2009 for his work on ‘Soofi Paranja Kadha’. Over the years, he has collaborated with esteemed lyricists and poets such as O N V Kurup, Yusufali Kechery and Sreekumaran Thampi, and his compositions have been performed by celebrated singers including K J Yesudas, K S Chithra and Shreya Ghoshal.
