Malappuram: Left independent MLA K T Jaleel has declared that he will no longer contest elections. He also vowed to expose corruption among government officials in Kerala, following in the footsteps of MLA P.V. Anvar, who recently levelled serious accusations against top police officers.

Jaleel made the announcement through a Facebook post, where he shared his decision and future plans.

“I will not contest in the elections again. No authority is required. CPM will remain a companion until my last breath. The support and recognition given by CPM will not be forgotten even after death. Corruption among officials will be exposed. A portal will be launched for that,” Jaleel wrote on Facebook.

His declaration follows his earlier statements in support of Anvar, who had recently levelled serious allegations against Kerala ADGP M.R. Ajith Kumar. Jaleel had previously mentioned his desire to step back from responsibilities to focus on reading, writing, and lecturing.

Anvar's allegations stir controversy

The context of Jaleel’s announcement gains significance following the recent actions of P.V. Anvar. After making serious allegations against ADGP M.R. Ajith Kumar, Pathanamthitta SP Sujith Das, and the Chief Minister’s political secretary P. Sasi, Anvar has put the Home Department under scrutiny. These allegations prompted the Chief Minister to order an investigation into the matter.
