Fake complaints are filed due to vendetta against men, says Shahida Kamal

Kollam: Kerala State Women’s Commission member Shahida Kamal said that fake complaints are filed sometimes due to personal vendetta. The number of fake complaints lodged with Women’s Commission has increased after the Vismaya case in Kollam, she added.
Some complaints are genuine while some are fake. But this will only serve to weaken the laws. Women who are aware of the laws are mostly behind the fake complaints. Some of the complaints are related to issues in workplace, Shahida Kamal pointed out.
The parents should stop considering girl children as a burden. They have to ensure proper education for daughters. The minimum age of marriage for girls should be 21 years and 25 years for boys. Only at this age, they will attain maturity, she said.
Some girls think that they have to take revenge even at the cost of their life. But this is wrong. They should not take their life for justice, Shahida opined.
