Kerala realtor Mami missing case: Driver, wife missing as police search for autorickshaw

Kozhikode: The disappearance of realtor and businessman Mohammed Attoor (also known as Mami) from Kozhikode has taken a new turn as both his driver (Rajith Kumar) and wife (Thushara) have gone missing as well. The Crime Branch has been investigating the Mami missing case, and now police are also trying to trace the autorickshaw linked to the couple’s sudden disappearance.
Thushara's brother, Sumaljith, filed a missing persons report with the Nadakkavu police, stating that his sister and brother-in-law vanished after checking out of a lodge near the KSRTC bus stand in Kozhikode. The couple, who had been staying at the lodge, left their room on Thursday but have not been heard since then. They had left their home earlier on Tuesday.
There have also been reports that the Crime Branch had issued a notice for questioning Rajith Kumar in connection with Attoor’s disappearance.
As part of the investigation, the Nadakkavu police have obtained CCTV footage showing the couple getting into an autorickshaw. The police are now focusing on finding this vehicle as part of their search.
Mami’s disappearance still unresolved
Mohammed Attoor, a prominent real estate trader, was reported missing on August 21, 2023. A mobile phone-based investigation later revealed that he was last located in the Thalakulathur area of Parambath, Atholi on the afternoon of August 22. Over 147 people were questioned, and more than a thousand phone calls were reviewed during the investigation.
The case was transferred to the Kozhikode State Crime Branch in September 2024 after the family expressed dissatisfaction with the progress of the initial investigation by the Special Investigation Team.
