Kerala government to appoint 249 athletes under sports quota

Thiruvananthapuram: The Kerala government has approved the appointment of 249 sportspeople to various roles across different departments under the sports quota for the years 2015-2019.

The approval was granted during a cabinet meeting chaired by Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan, as per an official statement.

Asian Games medalists already appointed

Five athletes who won medals at the 2018 Asian Games have already been appointed as Assistant Sports Organisers in the General Education Department.

As a result of these appointments, the five positions held by the Asian Games medalists will be excluded from the upcoming notification for 250 posts covering the period from 2020 to 2024.
