Kollam: Education Minister V Sivankutty has announced a relief measure for Class 10 students of the state. He said that from the next academic year, the Class 10 syllabus will be reduced by 25 percent. The minister was speaking at the key-handover ceremony of the ‘Sneha Veedu’ (house built for the family of Mithun, who died after being electrocuted by a power line near Thevalakkara Boys High School).

The decision was taken after considering repeated complaints from students about the heavy syllabus load. The minister clarified that the syllabus revision will be carried out without making any changes to the content. He also said that the Curriculum Committee has already approved the proposed change.
