Kannur: International Airport has announced its Winter Schedule for 2024-25, with several developments that will offer travelers more flight options for both domestic and international routes.

One of the major highlights of this winter schedule is the introduction of new daily flights to Delhi and Dammam, operated by IndiGo. These flights are expected to commence in December 2024, further strengthening Kannur Airport's position as a crucial hub in the Malabar region for both domestic and international travel.

In addition, Air India Express has announced plans to base five aircraft at Kannur starting in January 2024, marking an expansion of their operations from the airport. This move will boost Kannur's connectivity, particularly on the international front, with enhanced services to various Gulf destinations and beyond.

Kannur's domestic network continues to expand, with strong connections to major metropolitan cities. Passengers can now enjoy daily flights to Bengaluru, Chennai, Cochin, Hyderabad, Trivandrum, and Delhi, enhancing accessibility to these key locations. Mumbai, another important destination, will be connected with four weekly flights.

With these new additions, Kannur’s domestic connectivity is now more robust than ever, linking it to key cities across India. Kannur International Airport continues to excel in international connectivity, particularly to the Gulf region, serving as a crucial link by connecting to 11 airports across this area. Abu Dhabi remains the top destination with an impressive 17 weekly departures, followed closely by Sharjah and Doha with 12 weekly flights each. Meanwhile, Dubai and Muscat continue to be popular hubs with daily departures—eight to Dubai and seven to Muscat.

Other important international routes include two weekly services to Bahrain, Jeddah, Kuwait, and Riyadh, and three weekly departures to Ras-al-Khaimah and Dammam. These destinations further consolidate Kannur Airport's standing as a key gateway for travelers to the Gulf region.

Air India Express dominates Kannur’s international market, operating the majority of international flights with 112 weekly movements. IndiGo handles the bulk of the domestic operations, with 92 weekly movements from Kannur.

As the winter season approaches, travelers can look forward to more convenient and frequent connections from Kannur International Airport to major Indian metropolitan areas and key Gulf cities. This expansion of services not only solidifies Kannur’s status as a vital airport in the region but also promises to enhance the tourism sector in nearby areas, including Kannur, Kasargod, Coorg, Mysore, Wayanad, and parts of Calicut. With improved connectivity, visitors will have easier access to the rich cultural heritage, natural beauty, and unique experiences these destinations offer.

To enhance passenger road connectivity, KSRTC has introduced new bus services connecting the airport to Kannur and Iritty. This initiative will provide convenient and reliable transportation options for travelers, significantly improving access to these areas.

With these exciting updates, Kannur International Airport is all set to offer an even more seamless and efficient travel experience for passengers, making it the airport of choice for travelers in Northern Kerala and beyond.
