Major accident averted after gas tanker overturns in Kottarakkara | Video
Kottarakkara: An LPG tanker overturned on MC Road on Friday morning, disrupting traffic in the area. The families living nearby were evacuated from homes.
The accident happened near Kaipallimukku, Panaveli. The tanker lost control and hit a tree, an electric post, and an advertisement board before overturning into a pit nearby. The fire force unit arrived at the spot.
Meanwhile, traffic was redirected in the area. Vehicles coming from the Kottayam side take a left from Sadanandapuram and reach the stretch of MC road near Mercy Hospital via Vettikkavala and Chirattakonam. Vehicles coming from Thiruvananthapuram should use the same route near Mercy Hospital. Traffic is expected to be restored by noon.
