Former Kerala CM VS Achuthanandan hospitalised

Thiruvananthapuram: Former Kerala Chief Minister and senior communist leader VS Achuthanandan was hospitalised on Monday morning after suffering a heart attack. He has been admitted to a private hospital in Thiruvananthapuram, where his condition is currently reported to be satisfactory, according to sources.
Achuthanandan, 101, is a towering figure in Kerala politics and served as the state’s Chief Minister from 2006 to 2011. He remains one of the most respected leaders of the Marxist and has also held the post of Leader of the Opposition for a record 15 years.
He last held public office as Chairman of the Administrative Reforms Commission with cabinet rank from 2016 to 2021.
