After Bihar rout, Prashant Kishor’s Jan Suraaj dissolves entire organisation for complete overhaul

In the wake of its dismal performance in the Bihar Assembly elections, the Jan Suraaj Party on Saturday dissolved all its organisational units—from the panchayat level up to the state level—with immediate effect.
The decision was taken at a meeting of the Jan Suraaj National Council held at Sheikhpura House in Patna. In the absence of party president Uday Singh, the meeting was chaired by Bihar state president Manoj Bharti. Party convenor Prashant Kishor was also present.
Jan Suraaj spokesperson Syed Masihuddin said that the party will rebuild its entire organisational structure over the next one-and-a-half months.
Although all existing committees stand dissolved, they will continue to discharge their responsibilities until the new framework is in place.
Senior party leaders have been assigned charge of all 12 administrative divisions of Bihar and tasked with setting up a stronger, more functional organisation in their respective regions.
They will also conduct consultations to analyse the causes of the party’s electoral defeat and submit reports to the central leadership on issues of indiscipline and sabotage.
A General Council meeting has been scheduled in Patna on December 21, where district-level leaders will present detailed feedback on the party’s poll performance and structural shortcomings. The meeting will also chart out a fresh roadmap for the future.
Jan Suraaj had contested the Bihar Assembly elections independently but failed to win any seat. Convenor Prashant Kishor has stated that he will soon relaunch the party’s outreach programme in preparation for the upcoming elections.
The meeting was attended by several senior leaders, including former Vice Chief of Army Staff Lt. Gen. S.K. Singh, former Union Minister R.C.P. Singh, senior advocate Y.V. Giri, former IAS officers Arvind Singh, N.P. Mandal, Lalan Yadav, A.K. Dwivedi, former IPS officers R.K. Mishra, Jitendra Mishra, Vinod Kumar Chaudhary, former MLA Kishore Kumar Munna, former MLC Rambali Singh Chandravanshi, former Chief Engineer Hemant Paswan, educationist R.N. Singh and others.
