‘Good governance is returning’: JDU hints at Nitish Kumar’s comeback as Bihar CM

Panta: As exit polls and early trends in the Bihar Assembly Election 2025 indicate a strong lead for the National Democratic Alliance (NDA), the Janata Dal (United) on Friday reaffirmed that Nitish Kumar will continue to be the Chief Ministerial face of the alliance.
In a confident and celebratory message posted on social media, the JDU declared, “today the opposition’s nonsense is losing… Bihar’s development is winning. The entire Bihar is winning.”
In another post, the party added, “Bihar is ready, Nitish ji’s government is coming back again. Just a few hours to wait — the government of good governance is returning once again.”
In Patna, a hoarding reading “Bihar Ka Matlab Nitish Kumar” appeared near the Chief Minister’s residence.
These strong reactions came as counting began across the state, with early trends showing the NDA racing ahead.
NDA crosses majority mark early; Nitish Kumar’s JDU shows high conversion rate
By 10:00 am, the NDA was comfortably past the halfway mark of 122 signaling a possible return of the Nitish-led alliance to power.
The NDA also showed strong conversion efficiency:
JDU: 70% conversion rate
BJP: 67% conversion rate
LJP (RV): 53% conversion rate
Celebrations begin at party HQ with Bihari delicacies
As trends continued to favour the ruling alliance, preparations for victory celebrations kicked off at both BJP and JDU headquarters.
Traditional Bihari food items such as: Litti Chokha, Sattu Paratha, Jalebi and other sweets were being prepared in anticipation of a favourable verdict.
The festive atmosphere reflected the confidence within the NDA camp, boosted by exit polls predicting a comfortable win.
Nitish Kumar poised for another term in Bihar?
With early trends strongly favouring the NDA and the JDU repeatedly projecting Nitish Kumar as the face of stability and governance, the alliance looks confident of returning to power.
While counting continues, the party’s posts and enthusiastic preparations signal their belief that Bihar is set to bring back the Nitish government once again.
