Muzaffarpur: Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Sunday launched a sharp attack on the Opposition Grand Alliance during an election rally in Sahibganj, Muzaffarpur, urging voters to support the Nitish Kumar–Narendra Modi-led NDA in the upcoming Bihar Assembly polls.

Addressing a massive gathering, Shah said, “Lalu Yadav is trying to make his son the Chief Minister of Bihar, and Sonia Gandhi wants to make her son the Prime Minister. But both posts are not vacant. The people of Bihar will once again bless the Nitish-Modi-led NDA for stability and development.”

Beginning his speech by invoking Baba Garibnath Dham, the Home Minister said a grand temple of Mother Sita will be constructed in Sitamarhi.

He urged people to cast their votes on November 6, adding that their vote is “not to make any candidate an MLA or minister, but to free Bihar from jungle raj.”

“The same jungle raj that Bihar suffered during the 15 years of Lalu-Rabri rule is now trying to return in disguise. But if the people of Muzaffarpur ensure the NDA’s victory, no one can bring it back,” Shah declared.

Highlighting the NDA’s development agenda, Shah said the combined leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Minister Nitish Kumar has transformed Bihar.

“The Modi-Nitish duo gave Bihar AIIMS, an airport, a metro, and a power plant. It is because of Modi’s governance that Muzaffarpur’s litchi has reached global markets,” he said.

Referring to the dark days of lawlessness, Shah alleged that during the RJD regime, bureaucrat G. Krishnaiah was lynched, and crime ruled the streets.

“If Lalu’s son becomes Chief Minister, three new ministries will be created — one for kidnapping, one for extortion, and one for murder,” he said, triggering applause from the crowd.

Shah announced that if the NDA returns to power, it will create a new ministry dedicated to making Bihar flood-free and continue its efforts toward infrastructure and safety.

He also mentioned that the Vande Bharat Express will soon connect Sitamarhi in Bihar with Ayodhya, further strengthening cultural and religious ties.

Shah concluded his address by asserting that the NDA has taken Bihar from ‘jungle raj to vikas raj’, saying, “The state that was once a den of criminals is now on a path of rapid development under the NDA government.”
