4 sandstone replicas of Konark wheels installed at Rashtrapati Bhavan

New Delhi: Four replicas of the Konark wheels, crafted from sandstone, have been placed at the Rashtrapati Bhavan Cultural Centre and Amrit Udyan.
“The installation of Konark wheels aims to showcase and promote the rich heritage of the country among visitors,” an official said. This initiative is part of ongoing efforts to incorporate traditional cultural and historical elements into Rashtrapati Bhavan, he added.
The Konark Sun Temple, a UNESCO World Heritage site, represents the peak of Odishan temple architecture. Designed like a massive chariot, it honours the Sun God. The Konark wheels serve as important symbols of India’s rich cultural heritage.
