Kerala ATS nabs Maoist leader Soman; Interrogation in progress at Kochi

Palakkad: Maoist leader Soman was arrested by the Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) of the Kerala Police around 11 pm on Saturday on the Shoranur railway station premises. Soman is the commander of the Wayanad Nadukani Dalam.
The arrest of Soman was reportedly facilitated by information provided by Maoist leader Manoj, who was apprehended in Kochi a few days back. Soman has been taken to Ernakulam, where the ATS is currently interrogating him. He is listed as 'wanted' by the Wayanad district police for his involvement in Maoist activities.
According to ATS, Manoj is a member of the Maoist organisation based in the Kabani Dalam area, which spans Kannur and Wayanad districts. The police had previously announced a reward for information leading to the capture of the 20-member gang, including Manoj.
