Saharanpur’s famous ghewar, chaat and honey-based products are set to reach bigger markets under Uttar Pradesh’s "One District, One Cuisine" initiative. The move aims to strengthen local businesses and promote the district’s culinary identity across India and beyond.

Known for its thriving apiaries, delicious ghewar and vibrant street chaat, Saharanpur has selected three signature products under the state government's special promotion scheme.

District officials say the initiative will help local entrepreneurs expand their reach through better marketing, easier access to loans, and skill development programs.

According to Ajay Kumar Tripathi, Deputy Commissioner, District Industry Promotion and Entrepreneurship Development Center, "The objective is to promote these popular local products at national and international levels and provide them with a wider market."

The scheme will also focus on improving product packaging and shelf life, helping local businesses attract more customers and compete in larger markets.
