Tourism peaks in Kullu-Manali with busiest season in years
Kullu-Manali tourism is enjoying one of its strongest seasons in recent years, with a sharp rise in tourist arrivals across Himachal Pradesh. Official data shows nearly 1.88 lakh vehicles crossed the Green Tax Barrier in Manali over the past three months, around 23,000 more than during the same period last year. Authorities say hotel occupancy has remained consistently high, making the season a major success for the region.
The tourism boom has highly benefited the local economy. Hotel operators report nearly 100% occupancy, especially on weekends, attributing the surge to improved road connectivity through the newly operational four-lane highway. Adventure tourism activities have also seen increased participation, creating more business opportunities.
Tourism stakeholders believe the positive trend will continue in the coming months. Besides Kullu-Manali, destinations including Banjar, Jibhi, Sainj Valley, and Manikaran have also recorded higher tourist footfall.
