Kottiyoor Vaisakha Mahotsavam: Massive surge in inter-state pilgrims at Kerala temple festival
Preparations are in full swing at Kottiyoor Temple as devotees and temple authorities gear up for the first major ritual of the annual Vaisakha Mahotsavam. The Thiruvonam Aradhana, the first of four key observances during the festival, will be held on Friday.
As part of the Thiruvonam Aradhana celebrations, the traditional Ponnin Sheeveli procession and the Aradhana Sadya will take place at noon on Friday. The main Aradhana Pooja is scheduled to be conducted in the evening.
The festival calendar will continue with the Ilanir Veppu ritual on Sunday, followed by Ilanirattu and Ashtami Aradhana on Monday, drawing large numbers of devotees to the sacred temple.
Meanwhile, the construction of the temporary Sreekovil at the Manithara in the Akkare Temple has been completed. Daily rituals and regular worship associated with the Vaisakha Mahotsavam are also progressing smoothly.
