Two decades after her debut in Gangster, Kangana Ranaut is looking back on the highs and lows of her film journey. The actor-politician revealed that despite the critical success of Fashion in 2008, she struggled to find meaningful work and often accepted commercial projects to stay afloat in the industry.

Speaking about that phase, Ranaut said she knew she was working below her intelligence but lacked the luxury of choosing only passion projects. She added that her breakthrough came when she embraced roles of ordinary women in films such as ‘Queen’ and ‘Tanu Weds Manu’, which helped in her career success

The actor is now gearing up for the release of Bharat Bhhagya Viddhaata, a drama inspired by the courage of nurses and hospital staff during the 2008 Mumbai terror attacks. The film releases in theatres on June 12.
