Gurindervir heads Indian challenge at Asian Relays Championships in China

India has announced a 29-member squad for the second Asian Relays Championships, set to take place in Shangyu, China, on June 20 and 21. National men's 100m record holder Gurindervir Singh will lead the Indian contingent selected by the Athletics Federation of India.

The team will compete in all six relay disciplines, including the men's and women's 4x100m and 4x400m relays, along with the mixed 4x100m and mixed 4x400m events. AFI President Bahadur Singh said the championship will provide athletes with an excellent opportunity to showcase their talent on the continental stage.

The squad features several promising sprinters and relay specialists, with India aiming to strengthen its position in Asian athletics. In another boost for Indian athletics, the third edition of the Asian Relays Championships has been awarded to Chandigarh, marking a significant milestone for the country's growing presence in the sport.

With a blend of experience and emerging talent, India will look to make a strong impact in China ahead of hosting the next edition of the continental competition. It will be held in Chandigarh.
