Ranjini Jose, the beloved singer of Malayalis, is known for speaking her mind when gossip goes too far. In a candid chat on her best friend Ranjini Haridas’s podcast, she cleared the air once and for all, talking openly about Vijay, her friendships, and the baseless speculations that have been swirling around her for years.

The rumours intensified after Ranjini shared a picture of herself with Vijay Yesudas on social media with the caption, "Viju... I love you forever" as a birthday wish. Since both of them are divorced, many stories began circulating online. Baseless reports linked Ranjini not only with Vijay but also with TV host Ranjini Haridas, with some even suggesting that the two women were a lesbian couple.

Ranjini Jose responds

Recently, appearing on her best friend Ranjini Haridas's podcast, Ranjini Jose addressed all the rumours directly. She clarified to those questioning her sexuality that she is straight.

She said, "Now, people are sometimes insensitive. To give an example, one only needs to look at the online news that linked me and Vijay Yesudas after Covid. I reacted when they regularly started writing insensitive things. Many people supported me back then. The news was that Vijay and I were dating. He has been my friend since childhood."

Ranjini continued, "We have been friends since the 10th grade. Why should I be dating Vijay? He is my best friend. Vijay Yesudas is someone I would never want to date."

Ranjini Haridas responded to Ranjini Jose's clarification with her own take on friendships and dating, saying, "What's wrong with falling for a best friend? I have dated my best friends. We later broke up, and I lost that friendship too."

After the Vijay Yesudas speculation, online media also tried to link Ranjini Jose and Ranjini Haridas romantically. Speaking about this, Ranjini Jose said, "It was said that Ranjini and I were a lesbian couple. They want to know what is happening in other people's lives."

"One morning, I woke up and saw a thumbnail. It had Ranjini on one side and me on the other. We had done a photoshoot for Grihalakshmi. They had created the thumbnail by splitting that photo. Then, in the middle, there was a photo of two girls with blurred faces kissing. And the caption read, 'Are they lesbians..?' I went crazy. The issue with Viju had just ended, and then this came up. I had sent it to Ranjini."

Ranjini Jose married Ram Nair in 2013, and the couple divorced around 2020.
