The ongoing dispute between actors Nayanthara and Dhanush, concerning the inclusion of behind-the-scenes footage from the film Naanum Rowdy Dhaan in the Netflix documentary Nayanthara: Beyond the Fairy Tale, has taken a new turn. This time, Dhanush, who is also a producer of the film, has once again entered the fray, launching a scathing attack against Nayanthara and her husband, film director Vignesh Shivan, levelling multiple accusations against the duo. Dhanush has also filed a fresh lawsuit, demanding compensation of Rs. 1 crore.

Various national media outlets have reported on Dhanush’s latest legal move against Nayanthara and Vignesh Shivan. Dhanush has filed a civil case, accusing them of using scenes from Naanum Rowdy Dhaan in the documentary Nayanthara: Beyond the Fairy Tale without permission. His production company, Wunderbar Films Private Limited, is seeking a total of Rs. 1 crore in damages.

In his affidavit submitted to the court, Dhanush alleged that the shooting of Naanum Rowdy Dhaan was marred by unprofessional behaviour, particularly from director Vignesh Shivan. Dhanush claims that Vignesh’s attention was solely focused on Nayanthara and her scenes, to the exclusion of other actors and crew members.

According to Dhanush’s affidavit, "The fourth accused (Vignesh Shivan) unnecessarily began to focus exclusively on the third accused (Nayanthara). He neglected other actors and crew members, repeatedly re-shooting scenes involving the third accused. He ensured that only they performed well and did not prioritise the other actors."

The issue erupted after the release of the Netflix documentary Nayanthara: Beyond the Fairy Tale on the occasion of Nayanthara’s 40th birthday. The documentary, which features brief clips from Naanum Rowdy Dhaan, prompted Dhanush to send a legal notice to Nayanthara, accusing her of copyright infringement and demanding a compensation of Rs. 10 crore. This marked the beginning of the conflict between the two parties. Following this, Nayanthara responded publicly, further intensifying the dispute.

This legal battle has now become a focal point of intense public and media attention, highlighting the ongoing tensions between the leading stars of Tamil film industry.
