‘He was the first to...’: Urvashi Rautela opens up about Balayya after Daaku Maharaaj

Actress Urvashi Rautela, who starred alongside Telugu superstar Nandamuri Balakrishna also known as Balayya in the film Daaku Maharaaj, has opened up about the actor’s viral public image and her experience working with him on the movie.
During a recent interview with Radio Nasha, Urvashi Rautela addressed the criticism and online chatter surrounding her collaboration with Balakrishna in Daaku Maharaaj.
The actress referred to the controversy linked to the film’s song Dabidi Dibidi, which had sparked criticism on social media after its release.
“I don’t know... sometimes it’s like one thing leads to another thing, then third thing, fourth thing... it was like that,” Urvashi said while speaking about how the controversy escalated online.
Despite the backlash, she insisted that her personal experience working with Balakrishna remained positive.
“Working with him was definitely really, really amazing... and if you watch the film, do watch our action sequences also... that is really kick,” she said.
Urvashi also described herself as “lucky” to have worked with the veteran Telugu actor.
‘Fans also love it’: Urvashi on Balakrishna’s viral clips
Balakrishna has often gone viral for his interactions with fans, including controversial clips where he appeared to react aggressively or throw away phones during crowded public events.
When asked about such moments, Urvashi said she had witnessed similar incidents herself.
“Yeah, many times I’ve seen... and it always used to be like... it used to be fun watching all this,” she said.
The actress further claimed that fans themselves often enjoy such interactions.
“They also love it... they are also happy... you won’t imagine,” Urvashi added.
Sharing a personal anecdote, she revealed that Balakrishna was the first person to wish her on Valentine’s Day last year.
“Last year on Valentine’s Day, Balakrishna garu was the first person who wished me,” she said.
Offering another perspective on Balakrishna’s personality, Urvashi described him as approachable and energetic behind the scenes.
“He is very childlike and he is very fun-loving... and obviously he is a massive, massive superstar... super energetic he is,” she said.
The actress also responded to Balakrishna’s perceived angry public image.
“It’s not like that every time he is in that zone. He is very down to earth and he loves talking to people... especially with kids,” Urvashi stated.
Meanwhile, the trailer for Inspector Avinash season 2 was unveiled this week.
The series stars Randeep Hooda in the lead role as Inspector Avinash Mishra and features Urvashi Rautela, Amit Sial, Abhimanyu Singh, Rajneesh Duggal, Shalin Bhanot and Freddy Daruwala in important roles.
Directed by Neerraj Pathak, the new season is set in 1990s Uttar Pradesh and follows Inspector Avinash as he battles crime, corruption and personal turmoil while taking on a dangerous weapons cartel.
