Vijay’s old hit vs son’s new film: Thirupaachi gets postponed ahead of Sigma

Thalapathy Vijay and Trisha Krishnan's 2005 film Thirupaachi will no longer return to Indian theatres on October 1, 2026, with distributors postponing the re-release and promising to announce a new date soon.

The film stars Vijay as Sivagiri and Trisha Krishnan as the female lead. Mallika plays Vijay's sister, while Pasupathy, Manoj K. Jayan, Kota Srinivasa Rao and Livingston feature in supporting roles.

The story centres on Sivagiri's efforts to protect his sister after she faces problems in her married life. The film combines family drama with action, comedy, romance and music.

Sigma and Jason Sanjay

Sigma is Jason Sanjay's feature directorial debut. Sundeep Kishan leads the film, which has been described as an action entertainer incorporating heist, treasure-hunt and comedy elements.
